If you’re looking for a truck to do some work, you don’t have to look any further than the Chevy Silverado 1500. No matter what you’ll need it to do, it will always get the job done.

The Chevy Silverado 1500 comes standard with a 4.3-liter V6 engine that offers 285 horsepower and 305 lbs.-ft. of torque. You can also get your truck with one of these engines:

  • 7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder: 310 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque
  • 0-liter turbodiesel six-cylinder: 277 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque
  • 3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque
  • 2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque

It’s your choice of either eight- or 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but four-wheel drive is available.

Towing and Hauling

While the base engine can tow up to 7,900 pounds when properly equipped, you’ll be able to pull a lot more than that with the 6.2-liter V8. It will let you tow up to 13,300 pounds. And if you’ll need to do some hauling, you’ll appreciate what the Chevy Silverado 1500 can do. It has a maximum payload of 2,280 pounds. Plus, you’ll have three-bed lengths to pick from: 5-foot-10 inches, 6-foot-7 inches, and 8-foot-2 inches.

To assist with towing and hauling, you can get your Chevy Silverado 1500 outfitted with a number of features, including:
