Outdoorsy Features of the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado

March 6th, 2023 by

Do you enjoy spending as much time as possible in the great outdoors? If your current vehicle doesn’t help you get outside, it might be time for an upgrade. Here you’ll learn about the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado and why this is the ideal truck for outdoor adventures.

Great Power Options

The Chevy Colorado comes with a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that generates 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque. Two other engines are available:

  • Turbocharged 2.8-liter, four-cylinder diesel engine: 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque
  • 6-liter V6 engine: 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque

The four-cylinder engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, while the V6 comes with an eight-speed automatic.

Excellent Off-Road Ability

You can take your Chevy Colorado almost anywhere. While rear-wheel drive is standard, four-wheel drive is available. There are two trims in particular that are ideal for off-roading: Z71 and ZR2. Both are equipped with locking front and rear differentials, a heavy-duty suspension system, and hill descent control.

The ZR2 adds off-road rocker protection, a two-speed transfer case, and a transfer case shield. The ultimate off-roader is the ZR2 Bison, which comes with AEV bumpers and skid plates, 17-inch wheels, and 32-inch off-road tires.

Towing and Hauling

Another great feature of the Chevy Colorado is its outstanding towing and hauling ability. You’ll have little difficult bringing gear and equipment with you, as the base model can tow up to 3,500 pounds. If you go with the V6 engine, that increases to 7,000 pounds, and the diesel engine takes that to 7,700 pounds.

For the maximum payload of 1,550 pounds, you’ll want to opt for the 3.6-liter V6 engine.
