The new model continues the fourth Silverado generation that was introduced for the 2018 model year but arrives with more refinement and options. There are seven core trim levels to choose from, and those are the WT, Custom, LT, RST, ZR2, LTZ and High Country.
The most affordable option here for the off-road enthusiast is the Custom Trail Boss. It adds four-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer case, 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, underbody skid plates, an automatic locking rear differential, hill descent control and the Z71 off-road suspension package: Rancho shocks and a 1-inch suspension lift. The LT Trail Boss is similar but has the more upscale interior of the LT, and the ZR2 is the newest option. It has all of the Trail Boss upgrades where applicable but also adaptive dampers, upgraded skid plates and front and rear electronic locking differentials.
